Under moderate supervision, formulates and defines specifications for operating system software. Top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized phases of operating system software. Responsible for analysis and resolution of escalated problems within the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Evaluates Mainframe software performance, isolates and debugs software problems, makes recommendations for problem resolution. 2. Provides technical leadership for planning, designing, installing, testing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining operating system software, including business recovery capabilities of such operating systems. 3. Provides 24x7 on call technical support, as required. 4. Maintains ongoing familiarity with technology trends and solutions in software applications. 5. Performs trend analysis and capacity planning for IT Operations. 6. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field and 8 years relevant experience or 5 years experience in Information Technology. 2. Mastery of multiple programming/script languages with proficiency in development of systems and program interfaces. 3.
